2019 Daredevil, Defenders & Punisher Exchange: Posting reminder

Anonymous sent — What's the earliest we're allowed to post our exchange gift(s), or can we do that at any time once we have finished?

Hello!

As said in the sign-up posts, the works are due on Aug, 26 and so must be posted on that date (don’t worry about time zones for that bit).
The point is for everyone to receive and give a gift on the same day… and for the entire fandom to get one big present too :-)
Hopefully, the variety of works will ensure every fan will find something to enjoy!

There are two months for that particular exchange because:
1/ you are encouraged (not obliged!) to create more than one work,
2/ if you find one piece of work is becoming longer / more complex etc, no worries! You don’t have to rush it!
3/ some people have time in July but not August or vice-versa.

If you’re posting on AO3 then you can post in the DDE2019 collection now, but the work will not show until the collection is revealed on Aug, 26 (exact hour will be given close to the due date). EDIT: just added a placeholder fic there, if you go to the collection you will see one work is posted but you can’t access it: that’s how it works :-)

This is meant to give people who will not be able to post on AO3 on D-Day the opportunity to do so beforehand and not worry about it.

However, I’d recommend checking your work afterwards to see if the posting date is Aug 26 or the date when you actually posted it (in which case you can edit your fic so it’s dated as published on Aug 26).

Posting a link to your AO3 work before the collection is set as revealed will not work and it will not be visible.
Making your work visible on any platform before Aug, 26 nullifies its relevance for the exchange and you will be considered as a participant who dropped out without warning.
