You’re participating in an exchange, challenge etc? Here’s a little FAQ :-)

If it’s an exchange, please check your anon asks are enabled (sometimes they’ve been turned off!) or that you have a means of anon contact (such as Dreamwidth if you allow anon comments, AO3 which means your artist will have to log off and leave a message under one of your artworks, etc.) that corresponds to what you have given in the sign-up form.
If you do not have a Tumblr, it’s not a problem: you can still submit, even without an account.

Remix option for Exchanges or Prompt Fest: please tag the original creator on Tubmlr and tick the box This work is a remix, a translation, a podfic, or was inspired by another work on AO3.

No AO3 account?
If you do not have an AO3 account and would like one, get in touch with this blog!

AO3?
The blog also has an AO3 home and is on Dreamwidth.

You can add past stuff to older exchanges’ collections if you couldn’t before by clicking on “edit” on your AO3 work, scrolling down to “post to collection/challenge”, and type the name of the exchange you will see on the link here (ex: dde2022).
If it’s a current exchange, you can post there whenever you like before the due date: the relevant collection will remain unrevealed until D-Day (this means before it is revealed, the work will be a Mystery Work and only you and the admin can access it, and you can’t use the link in a post or even a drafted post).
It can be added to several collections at the same time, such as the MattElektraBingo one or the DaredevilBingo one!
No monetized work will be accepted - No AI stuff.

If your giftee has an AO3 account, do use the “Gift this work to…” box!

NEW - if you’re doing a Remix, don’t forget to link back to the original work and credit the original creator. On AO3, tick the inspired by + link box!

You must post on AO3 or send in your work before the reveal date. Ex: if the reveal is on Oct 31, you will be asked to have posted on AO3 about a week earlier.
AO3: keep in mind the fic will be dated on the day you actually post it, for instance Oct 20.
Since it’s unrevealed, no one can see it until Oct 31.
When the collection is revealed on the 31 it will therefore still be dated on the 20, so if fans are looking for new works chronologically your work will be shown with the fics posted on the 20.
(People subscribed to you will get an email on the 31st, and so will your giftee).
It can be a big deal in very active fandoms, or if you post super early.
BUT the good news is, on the 31st (or anytime after that) you can edit your fic and change the date to be accurate if you want to!

Inserting art on AO3:
You have to have the pic uploaded somewhere, but make sure it's not going to be visible - so go for hosting and not, like, a Tumblr post. Discord deprecates links so it won't work for long. You can check out https://images.squidge.org/image (unless the work features underage sex) or ask other artists what they use. In a pinch, Tubmlr DMs can work, and iirc a cloud drive if you make sure the settings are correct.

Now, on AO3:
you can use the Rich Text option: click on Insert/Edit Image, and fill in the boxes. Your pic should end in .jpg or another image format, not a link. It’s HIGHLY recommended that you use a percentage in the “width” box rather than pixel size; this will ensure your pic always looks good on any screen (it will fill 80%, 40%, etc of the screen, whether a phone, tablet, computer, and whether you’re holding your screen in portrait or landscape mode) instead of making the reader slide left and right to see bits of the pic. 80% for art in landscape format and 40% for art in portrait format is a good starting point that you can adjust from. To center your pic: click on “html” and not rich text, and insert <center> before <img src=“…> and </center> right after.

How to post/submit?
You have different options.
The simplest is to post in the AO3 collection; i will prepare the Tumblr posts using that information. Don't forget to add the prompt(s) you used, gift the work, use the "inspired by" box if it's a remix, and add a description if it's art.
For gifsets, however, i think the easiest is to post your work on D-Day or schedule it for D-Day, and tag @daredevilexchange and your @giftee, as well as #daredevilexchange. And, of course, to give an image description as well :-) and mention the prompt(s) used.
If you can't post on AO3 and it's not a gifset, you can DM via Discord or email me the work with added details: who to credit (your Tumblr blog? something else?), who the gift is for, and a description of the work (if visual work).
If it's NSFW please provide both the full work and a SFW excerpt.

If you are late or have to drop out…
As soon as possible, warn the admin (you can PM daredevilexchange, if you leave an ask leave a means of contact such as an email if you do not have a Tumblr). Life happens and that’s fine, but if you do not warn you will not be allowed to participate in future activities.
If you’re going to be a day or two late, please also leave an anon ask to your giftee so they don’t feel abandoned on D-Day ;-)
The admin makes it a point to get every exchange participant a gift, even if it comes late; this means knowing when to get in touch with a pinch-hitter, so… W A R N   U S
